Shawnee Heights Elementary

Introduction

Welcome to Shawnee Heights Elementary School!

Each day approximately 460 excited pre-K through sixth grade students attend our school.

Our faculty and staff are committed to supporting academic, behavior and social needs of all students through quality instruction, secondary supports and services designed to meet the needs of all learners.

Each and every student by virtue of attending SHES will be equipped with academic, behavior and social skillsets to support successful school and life outcomes. Small focus groups are provided for students who need additional time or supports or enrichment. In addition, individualized instructional plans and supports assist those students who require student specific intervention plans, programs, materials and providers including reading specialist, school counselor, gifted facilitator and special education staff.

Shawnee Heights Elementary provides extensive curricular programs including: daily physical education and vocal music, weekly counselor and library instruction, technology integration into each classroom, 5th/6th grade band and orchestra and Intramurals instructional programs.

Early Childhood Services are available through a cooperative program provided by Community Action Headstart. For more information please call 266-0245.  For more information about Early Childhood Special Education programs please call 357-5440.
