My name is Alan Beam and I joined the Shawnee Heights family in August 2009. My educational experiences: - I graduated from F. L. Schlagle H.S. (KCK) in 1976.
- I received my BSE in Social Science from Emporia State University in 1982.
- My masters in Building Leadership 9 – 12 was earned from Washburn University in 2000.
- I’ve also earned a District Leadership Specialist Degree from Emporia State in 2004.
My teaching experiences: - High School and Middle School teacher for Washington USD 222 (1982 to 1992).
- High School teacher for Holton USD 336 (1992 to 2000)
- Building principal for Holton USD 336 (2000 to 2009)
- District Curriculum Director and Staff Development Director (2004 to 2009)
Other: - Served as Head Football, Basketball and Golf coach.
- Served as Assistant Football and Basketball coach.
- Taught college courses for Cloud County Community College and Highland Community College
