All teachers will have some form of final during their assigned testing time. -
Students are to come to class prepared to take the final and have something to work on should they get done early. Students will not be allowed to leave the classroom once class starts. December 22nd Guidelines -
At 1 pm students will be dismissed if they have all their work done. -
Teachers may assign students who have missing assignments, make-up test or make-up labs to meet with them during this time. -
Once a student has their work made up for the teacher they will be excused either to leave or go see another teacher. -
Students who ride a bus may hang out in the cafeteria or in a classroom with a teacher if teacher agrees. -
All students remaining in the building at 2:35 will be dismissed for the holiday break. Teacher Guidelines - By Dec. 14th, if not a little earlier, contact students in your classroom that have missing assignments, make up tests or make up labs.
- Tell them they will need to come see you during the afternoon of Dec. 22nd unless the work is completed before then.
- How you handle make - up labs is up to the individual teacher.
- Also, inform the student they must see you on the 22nd or be marked as skipping your class. Even if they are with other teachers before you and don't have time to complete the work for you, they must check in with you before leaving for the day.
- If a student claims they were with another teacher, please note and contact the teacher to make sure that was their location.
- If a student comes and sees you before leaving with no time to complete work, you might consider
- giving them time to complete work over break and bring it back to you.
- giving them time after the break to get the work done.
- This is totally your call.
- If a student fails to see you, write them up and turn it in to the office.
- When should a teacher assign a student to see them on the 22nd?
- Any missing work that would impact the overall student grade.
- If a student will fail the course, but by doing the work it will reduce the amount of work needed during summer school.
- When not to assign the 22nd to a student.
- When assignments are so late they earn no credit, even if completed.
- When doing the work will have no impact on the overall grade, just give them the zero and move on.
