About Us

WELCOME TO TECUMSEH SOUTH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Tecumseh South is the home to approximately 475 bright and eager students in Pre-K through sixth grade. We are one of four elementary schools in the Shawnee Heights School District, which is located in southeast Shawnee County near Topeka, Kansas.  We have a full-time counselor, a comprehensive special education program including gifted education, a full-time librarian, and a reading specialist with literacy tutors for differentiating reading instruction. We offer both band and orchestra programs beginning in 5th grade as well as daily physical education and vocal music for all students.  Intramural programs are provided for our students in the 5th and 6th grades.  Our students perform well on all objective measures and we have a proud tradition of academic, behavioral, and social success.
