Dear SHMS Families,
This morning, the Administration was alerted to a report concerning a rumor that a student had brought a firearm to school for sale. School Officers responded promptly to address the matter. Following a thorough investigation, the Officers found that the story was fabricated; there was no firearm and no present threat to student safety at our school. Please be assured that every school safety matter is taken seriously, thoroughly investigated, and appropriate measures taken.
Please know that we intend to keep parents informed of school safety incidents. While the nature of some safety matters may come across as insignificant, it's still essential to report all safety concerns to district officials so we can thoroughly investigate every report. Our students' and staff's safety and security are our top priority, and every report is taken seriously.
