
Mark Arts received more than 2,400 entries for the Eastern Kansas Scholastic Art Awards. Of those entries Staci Whiford was selected as Gold Key, and Chris Berry, Adelia Lawrenz and Adah Davis were selected at Honorable Mention. Congratulations to all the students!



Thank you to the Shawnee Heights Public Schools Foundation for hosting their Annual Winter Mixer on Friday. It was a nice staff event aimed to have fun with our fellow co-workers.

Practicing leadership skills at Berryton Elementary. They held an assembly this morning lead by students. It was announced that 103 students had perfect attendance last semester!

We're half way through the school year, already!


The holiday break is almost behind us but we can still dream of all the delicious sweets. Ann Wilhelm held a Holiday Baking Challenge where students were judged on quality, creativity and presentation. The train was pretty awesome and won the challenge!





Congratulations to Olivia, a 5th grade student, who won second place for her artwork at the 2019 Martin Luther King Jr. Living the Dream Art competition!


Over 20 Shawnee Heights art students have been selected to represent the school at the Topeka Art Guild High School art show (5331 SW 22nd place). Come to the opening this Friday, January 4th from 5-8pm.

High Schools students visited Tecumseh South earlier this week to read letters from Santa Claus.



Spelling Bees are being held throughout the district. SHMS students were nervous but excited to start their spelling adventure this afternoon.

8th grade students at SHMS are learning all about the responsibilities of the real world today. Thank you to Go Topeka for helping bring an amazing program like Reality U to our students. Also, a big thank you to all the community volunteers that came out to help!

Tecumseh North students raised $1,428 for United Way and are the student campaign champs for the district 4 years running! They celebrated with a little sumo wrestling fun today.

Tis the season of giving. A big THANK YOU to Academy Sports for donating a bike to every single kindergarten student at Tecumseh North! Their smiles tell you everything.





It was Random Acts of Kindness day at TSouth today! TSouth student, Molly, organized and interviewed other students who participated in the day. Molly says she wants to spread the kindness to everyone. What was your act of kindness today?

Shawnee Heights Middle School students made their own hot air balloons!
