Elementary Night is tonight, April 6th! Elementary students get in free to our girls' soccer game at Bettis with a paid adult admission and can walk on the field with the players - line up at 6:00 pm. Food Trucks are available as part of a fundraiser for the soccer team.

Happy Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! Today we celebrate the hard work and contributions of all the amazing paraprofessionals who support educators and students in countless ways. Thank you for your dedication to helping students succeed.


The 8th grade experienced FutureU yesterday! Students participated in scenarios from young adult life, such as paying bills. They learned about budgeting and banking while professionals from Topeka spoke about their careers. Lastly, they visited stations about career planning.





It's School Librarian Appreciation Day! Thank you to all our Librarians and Clerks for helping to create an environment where students are motivated to learn.

Reminder! Tonight is Heights on Display, sponsored by the Fine Arts Department, Monday, April 3rd, from 5-8 pm. This is a chance for our community to enjoy student work and performances. A portion of the proceeds from onsite Food Trucks will be donated to the SHHS Orchestra.





The elementary gifted students from across the district presented their ideas at an Invention Convention Open House today in the Shawnee Heights Elementary Cafeteria. They are preparing to present their ideas next at the Kansas City Invention Convention!

Would you like to work with a Student Intern? We want to place students interested in a degree and/or career in Graphic Design with local organizations to gain work-related experiences and learn more about the Graphic Design industry. Interested? email ayersberrya@usd450.net


Since 1991 we have had 16 students selected to attend ESU's Kansas Future Teacher Academy. This year 10 SHHS students were selected to attend! This program will explore teaching in-depth and help students determine if this is a field they would like to pursue.
