The Care Closet is open this Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Are you or do you know of someone in need of boxed or canned food or toiletry items? The Care Closet welcomes anyone in need to come to the High School.
A big THANK YOU to the Shawnee Heights Information Technology Department for working late into the night to fix our technology problems yesterday! They are continuing to monitor and test the various systems this morning to make sure everything is running.

Mark Arts received more than 2,400 entries for the Eastern Kansas Scholastic Art Awards. Of those entries Staci Whiford was selected as Gold Key, and Chris Berry, Adelia Lawrenz and Adah Davis were selected at Honorable Mention. Congratulations to all the students!
Thank you to the Shawnee Heights Public Schools Foundation for hosting their Annual Winter Mixer on Friday. It was a nice staff event aimed to have fun with our fellow co-workers.
Practicing leadership skills at Berryton Elementary. They held an assembly this morning lead by students. It was announced that 103 students had perfect attendance last semester!
Due to the inclement weather that is predicted for this weekend, the Care Closet will be closed this Saturday, January 12, 2019.
Congratulations to our TWO 2019 Horizon Award recipients Olivia Basye and Riley Propps. Basye is a first grade teacher at Berryton and Propps teaches social studies at SHHS @SHHSThunderbird. We have amazing teachers at Shawnee Heights. #ShawneeHeightsProud #GreatDayToBeATbird
We're half way through the school year, already!
The holiday break is almost behind us but we can still dream of all the delicious sweets. Ann Wilhelm held a Holiday Baking Challenge where students were judged on quality, creativity and presentation. The train was pretty awesome and won the challenge!
Congratulations to Olivia, a 5th grade student, who won second place for her artwork at the 2019 Martin Luther King Jr. Living the Dream Art competition!
